Zuzanna Pol lives and works in Warsaw, Poland. She graduated from Warsaw University, School of Reportage, and European Academy of Photography (diploma on subjective photo reportage).
She exhibits in Poland and France, she is also a co-founder of Photocoaching (R) and writer who collaborates with a number of titles (p.ex. National Geographic, Viva, Playboy).

Her photos appear as dreamlike images in which fiction and reality meet, well-known tropes merge, meanings shift, past and present fuse. By exploring the concept of landscape in a nostalgic way, she tries to create works in which the actual event still has to take place or just has ended: moments evocative of atmosphere and suspense that are not part of a narrative thread. The drama unfolds elsewhere while the build-up of tension is frozen to become the memory of an event that will never take place.

The same chaise for a good story applies to her work as a portraitist. Heroes of her portraits not only look from the photographs, they also speak, they tell their stories. "There is always a story to be heard, seen and noticed. I am collecting the copies" - she says.
